Doan (CA) Alternative Metal | Progressive Rock
Doan is a progressive alternative metal band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Formed of Diane Thibault at vocals, Olivier Roy on the drums, André Labrecque on bass and Nicholas Roy on guitar, they first established in 2011 as a cover band bearing the name Ghettoblaster. They changed their name in 2017 to dedicate themselves more seriously to their own compositions. Heavy and incisive to sweet and melodious, the band’s music is the result of a collaborative effort influenced by the music of bands like Tool, Alice In Chains, Mastodon, A Perfect Circle, Deftones, Godsmack and many others.
To the question “What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time? ” they respond: “We want them to remember the emotions it brings to them, that’s what music is all about, isn’t it?”
With their first album Stupidity Kills due out via Sliptrick Records in 2019, Doan are ready to rock the stage and look forward to spreading their words and music across the globe.
