Lizard Brain Directives, the new EP by Doubting Thompson, is his 4th EP and the 2nd to be released on Sliptrick Records. This time out, the Doubting T project combines the thrash metal fury of the previous releases with a noticeable advancement in production leading to more impact than ever.
Four explosive tracks assault the senses musically and lyrically, with an amped up sense of urgency. Starting the proceedings off with a bang, the EP opens with My Lai Massacre, an instant thrash classic detailing a laundry list of war crimes over some of the most pummeling Doubting Thompson riffage yet. The carnage continues with breakneck speed on Blood Diamond, a comment about the human exploitation involved in the diamond industry. Keeping things moving, Lead the Charge is an instrumental interlude featuring some Maiden-esque guitar harmonies as well as blistering leads. Closing the EP the way it began, with a bang, Terrible Ted tears through a tale of terror about one of America’s most infamous serial killers.
