With the goal of making their own, unique sounding heavy metal, Age Of Fire avoid the established musical patterns and dare to venture further, exploring new ideas and approaches.
This has never been more evident than on their latest EP, Through the Tempest. While many bands follow the usual musical routes, Age Of Fire produce a fresh sounding heavy metal, rough, unprocessed, full of grit and fire.
Crunchy, distorted riffs with thrash influences and gritty grooves, a solid low-end with heavy bass lines and harsh vocals, describe the general outline of the Through the Tempest. It’s a mainly riff oriented EP, with a distinct underground feeling and a dirty sound. There are also some doom inspired ideas like in the song Mary Celeste, while the song Through The Tempest, though instrumental, is one of the heaviest (if not the heaviest) tracks on the EP, with aggression in its riffs and fiery, shredding solos.
Throughout the 4 songs, Age Of Fire unleash a barrage of thundering heavy/thrash metal, with a fierce, original underground sound. Through the Tempest is an excellent EP that offers a fresh sound but with an old-school twist.
